(Springfield, IL) — The Lincoln Presidential Library is now offering a peek at the first televised U.S. presidential debate. The museum has produced a digital version of a 16mm film copy of the 1956 Democratic primary debate between Adlai Stevenson the Second and Estes Kefauver. The debate included discussions of school desegregation, the Soviet Union and nuclear energy and is available online through the library’s website.
