(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois State Museum is closer to reopening next month. A state legislative panel voted yesterday to allow the DNR to charge a five-dollar admission fee. Officials say the goal is to have the museum operating again by July 2nd. The facility was closed last fall because of the state budget crisis.
