Vandalia’s 17U baseball team picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday night at Vandalia Mutual Field. Andrew Herpstreith drove in Blake Morrison with the winning run for a walk off win. Preston Ruckman drove in the tying run and Nathan Casey added a 2 run Home Run in the game. Kelly Jones thru 3 innings for Vandalia to pick up the win over the Cumberland Force.
In the second game of the doubleheader, Blayke Cutts was pitching and Vandalia was leading 6 to 0 but a lighting malfunction forced the game to be called.
The Vandalia 17U team is now 1-1 on the season. They are off until a tournament from June 17th thru 19th at Lenz Field in Jacksonville.
