We hear again today from Vandalia Superintendent of Schools Rich Well as he talks about the lack of a state budget for the next fiscal year. Which, as of this time, means no school funding is in place for the next fiscal year. Well says it’s time for lawmakers to sit down and come to a compromise.
The other frustrating issue for schools in Illinois is that there were different proposals, including one by State Senator Andy Manar, that addressed the issues with inequity in school funding and would have found a solution. But, those proposals now go on the back burner with no budget in place.
