(Chicago, IL) — A dozen school superintendents from around the state are accusing Governor Rauner of playing politics with education funding. They’ve written a letter telling Rauner that their schools won’t open on time without state funding and they say the short-term plan he’s proposing continues the inequality of the existing funding formula. Rauner has said he’s open to changing the formula, but only if lawmakers agree to at least some of his pro-business, anti-union reform agenda plans.
