(Chicago, IL) — Some Illinois lawmakers are optimistic about at least a stopgap budget deal being reached soon. Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno tells WBBM radio she believes lawmakers will reach an agreement on a short-term plan before the end of June, just ahead of the start of the new fiscal year. The regular spring session ended last week. Illinois has been without a budget for almost a full year.
