The Illinois State Museum in Springfield may be reopening in early July. The State Department of Natural Resources is seeking approval from a legislative rule making committee to charge admission to the museum. Spokesperson Chris Young says if that happens, the facility will be able to open its doors on July 2nd.
Young says they will continue to look for private funding sources. The museum has been closed since October because of the budget stalemate. Admission will be $5 for adults. Kids and Veterans will be free.
