(Milwaukee, WI) — The Cardinals were held to just four hits in a 3-1 loss to the Brewers in Milwaukee. Jaime Garcia allowed just two runs in five innings, but fell to 4-and-5 with the loss. Brandon Moss homered in the ninth to break up the shutout for St. Louis, which was trying for a three-game sweep.

(Chicago, IL) — Jon Lester went the distance to lead the Cubs to a 2-1 win over the Dodgers. Lester allowed a run and four hits while striking out 10 and walking none to improve to 6-and-3. Kris Bryant belted a two-run homer to power Chicago to its seventh win in eight games. The teams play the finale of the four-game series this afternoon.
