A St. Elmo woman is facing felony charges following an incident over the weekend. 20-year old Amberly D. Wells is charged with Aggravated Battery for allegedly making “physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature” to another woman, a Class 3 Felony, as well as to St. Elmo Officer Brock Rich, which is a Class 2 Felony. Wells is also charged with Resisting a Peace Officer, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a minor, also a Class A Misdemeanor. Bond for Wells has been set at $25,000 and a public defender has been appointed. Well will have her first appearance with counsel in Fayette County Court on June 7 at 11am.
