We talk again today with State Senator Andy Manar, after his proposal for school funding reform was approved this past week in the Illinois Senate—and now moves to the Illinois House. Critics have brought up the issue of funding for Chicago public schools in the bill and some have called it a “Chicago bail out.” But, Senator Manar says it’s pretty simple—every school goes into his plan equally.
And, Senator Manar says he is very disappointed in his Republican colleagues from downstate who didn’t see the benefit of his plan.
Senator Manar’s proposal, Senate Bill 231, now moves to the Illinois House. And, we’ll talk with Senator Manar about that progression coming up tomorrow during NewsCenter.
