As the legislative session nears its scheduled deadline of May 31st, another attempt is being made to change the state’s education funding formula. But, State Senator Kyle McCarter says the plan is a lot like previous attempts, that promise a lot and deliver little. Senator McCarter says the latest proposal would spend about one billion dollars more on education.
McCarter says the latest plan is likely to change in coming days. But, he says as it stands now downstate schools would get short changed in favor of a bail out for Chicago schools.
