(Springfield, IL) — Illinois lawmakers are discussing a bill that would provide more funding for higher education in the state during the budget crisis. A measure that cleared a Senate committee yesterday would free up an additional 453-million-dollars for public universities and community colleges. The move comes after Governor Rauner signed a bill into law last month that provided 600-million-dollars to fund schools through the summer.
