(Decatur, IL) — A man from Normal used some horse-sense to make sure he didn’t miss another Decatur court appearance yesterday for driving on a suspended license. Ronald Blalock II hopped onto Rooster, his Tennessee Walking Horse, to make the 45-mile trip from a farm near LeRoy, arriving in plenty of time for the morning hearing. He set out late Wednesday morning and spent the night camping in Forsyth before setting out at 6 a.m. for Decatur. As Rooster munched grass and weeds outside the Macon County courthouse, Blalock paid his fine and the case was closed. He didn’t say if he’ll ride Rooster to McLean County, where he has some other legal issues to clear up.
