Higher Education will be getting a little relief, and lawmakers say something needs to be done to help human services programs as well. The Social Service programs that serve the neediest of Illinoisans have taken a big hut during the budget impasse, and need some sort of a reprieve says State Senator Toi Hutchinson.
The Senate approved a bill with 450 million dollars help keep programs afloat. It moves to the House next, but they are not scheduled to be back in session until next Tuesday, May 3rd.
