The preliminary hearing for a 45-year old Vandalia man facing charges of unauthorized videotaping has been reset for May 10 in Fayette County Court. On Monday, April 4, a waiver of first appearance and arraignment for 45-year old Charles Sharp was filed as well as a demand for a speedy trial by jury. With the waiver and a motion to continue filed, the preliminary hearing and Sharp’s next appearance with counsel was reset last Thursday to now be held May 10 at 10a.m. Sharp of Vandalia is facing three counts of Unauthorized Videotaping. In the information on the charges against Sharp, it states that between the dates of May 1st, 2013 and February 26th of 2016 that Sharp is alleged to have committed the offense in that he, without consent of a female individual, is alleged to have knowingly made a video record of the female individual while the female individual was allegedly in the restroom of a private residence. The charge is a Class 4 Felony and Sharp is currently facing three counts.
