(LeRoy, IL) — Governor Rauner is speaking out after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a federal law allowing unions to collect fees from government workers who are nonmembers. Rauner called the high court’s decision “tragic.” The governor says it’s a loss for freedom of speech and freedom of political expression. Rauner has made efforts to stop unions from collecting these types of fees including filing a federal lawsuit.
