(Chicago, IL) — Illinois continues to lose people. The state of Illinois lost about 22-thousand people last year, continuing a longstanding pattern, though the population drain was not universally felt. The U.S. Census Bureau reports that eight counties, including Will, Kane, McHenry and Kendall saw population growth. Cook County saw a net decline of more than ten-thousand people, while the entire Chicago region lost residents for the first time in 25-years.
