(Springfield, IL) — Illinois now stands alone in the nation as the state without a budget. Pennsylvania’s Democratic Governor Tom Wolf today said he would not veto a Republican-passed spending package, thus ending nine months of partisan gridlock in the Keystone State. Illinois has been without a budget since last June and there’s no indication that the battle of wills between Republican Governor Bruce Rauner and Democrat House Speaker Michael Madigan is about to end any time soon.
