(Chicago, IL) — Governor Bruce Rauner says he’s reached out to resume budget talks with House Speaker Michael Madigan, but says a gathering of all four legislative leaders is unlikely. It’s the first time Rauner has spoken since last week’s primaries in which a couple of candidates Rauner supported lost to candidates Madigan supported. Rauner says he hopes Madigan and the Democrats are willing to compromise with him, but he’s giving no indication he’s ready to back away from the changes he calls reforms, but that Madigan calls anti-middle class rhetoric.
