The Vandalia School Board was able to move forward with the hiring of a new Agriculture teacher for the 2016-17 school year at their meeting last week. The board approved the hiring of Mandy Totten for the position. Vandalia Superintendent of Schools Rich Well says it’s taken them a while to find someone to fill the position and they are excited about it.
In other personnel moves at their meeting last week, the board also approved the employment of Kassidy Shoemaker for High School TLC and approved the resignation of Gena Nance for High School math for the 2016-17 school year. The board also approved moving 4th year teachers to be on tenure status for the 2016-17 school year and also approved the rehire of all 1st. 2Nd, and 3rd year teachers.
