The Fayette County Board is continuing to work on a possible low speed vehicle ordinance for the county. The ordinance being worked on would regulate the use of low speed vehicles on secondary roads in rural areas of the county. During the Committee reports, Board Vice-Chairman Darrell Schaal updated the board on the meeting held between the Rules and Regulations Committee and the Public Safety Committee concerning the ordinance.
And Schaal says they want to make sure they have a “solid” ordinance before bringing the issue to the board for a vote.
An original ordinance was brought to the board back in November of 2015. However, that ordinance was tabled and has led to more research and discussion on the issue.
