As the Primary Election draws to just 8 days away, the campaign season heats up a bit more in Illinois. It was announced over the weekend that Governor Bruce Rauner will be joining Congressman John Shimkus for a number of campaign stops around the 15th Congressional District today in advance of the Illinois Primary Election—and one of those stops will be in Vandalia. The release of the event states that, at the stops, Governor Rauner and Congressman Shimkus will be speaking on the importance of a strong economy and job growth while reminding voters to participate in the Primary Election on March 15th. Congressman Shimkus is locked in a primary race, as he faces off with State Senator Kyle McCarter in the March 15th Primary.
Meanwhile, the Vandalia stop will be this afternoon at 3 pm at the Vandalia Statehouse.
