For just the second time in school history, the Patoka Warriors will play for a sectional championship tonight. Patoka will face Effingham St. Anthony tonight in the Red Hill Sectional Championship—with the winner moving onto the SIU Super-Sectional on Tuesday. Patoka is playing in the Sectional Championship game for the first time since 1989—and they are trying to reach their first ever basketball Super-Sectional tonight. Patoka comes into tonight’s game at 23-11 and Effingham St. Anthony comes into tonight at 21-10 on the season. This will be the third meeting of the year between the two teams. St. Anthony defeated Patoka, 59 to 50, on December 22nd at the Enlow Center and Patoka then defeated St. Anthony, 62 to 53, on December 28th at the Vandalia Holiday Tournament. Game time tonight is set for 7 pm.
