House lawmakers failed to override the Governor’s veto of a College MAP Grant funding bill on Wednesday. The Senate was able to override the veto, but the House couldn’t muster the votes for the 721 million dollar bill that includes money for the MAP program and community colleges. House Minority Leader Jim Durkin voted against the override, saying it comes down to one thing…..funding.
Republicans say they want to work with Democrats on a broader solution to higher education funding.
