The Fayette County Republican Central Committee held its Annual Lincoln Day Dinner this past Saturday. One key speaker for the event was Congressman John Shimkus who had been traveling to many other communities and counties throughout the day but said he has a special place in his heart for Fayette County.
This year, Shimkus visited Fayette County as he is in the middle of a primary race after being uncontested for several years. And, Shimkus says as change happens, contested primaries are also bound to happen and he is proud to have the support that has been show to him so far during the race.
Also on hand for the event, was the area’s State Representative John Cavaletto. And we will talk with him tomorrow on Newscenter.
