Governor Bruce Rauner has been visiting schools this week, talking about the need for education reforms. The Governor is reiterating his desire to free schools from costly unfunded mandates and spend more money on preschool and K thru 12 education. Rauner says he also wants to see waste eliminated from all levels of education in Illinois.
When asked about college MAP grants, Governor Rauner said he would sign a bill funding the assistance if it were tied to procurement reform at state colleges and universities.
