(Lincolnshire, IL) — Four labor unions have filed suit against the Chicago suburb of Lincolnshire against an anti-union ordinance encouraged by Governor Rauner. Lincolnshire’s ordinance creates a right-to-work zone, barring labor contracts that require a company’s employees to join unions or pay dues. Unions representing engineers, construction workers and carpenters say the ordinance violates several federal laws that prohibit such local ordinances. The village hasn’t commented.
