(Peoria, IL) — Governor Rauner brought his budget roadshow to a Peoria high school today, telling the students and staff at Woodruff Career and Technical Center that his plan would mean more funds for their school. Rauner’s latest tactic in his budget battle with Democrats is to promise more money for elementary and high schools across the state if Democrats agree to reform measures considered anti-union by critics. Rauner repeated today that Democrats are holding the rest of the state’s schools hostage as they pursue a tax hike to fund a bailout of Chicago’s schools.
