Betty J. Slater, 85, of Vandalia, formerly of Greenville, IL, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016, in Altamont, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, , with Rev. Robert Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Greenville, IL, Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday * 1 hour before the service*, February 27, 2016, at the Funeral Home. She was born, July 17, 1930, in Assumption, IL, the daughter of Carl David & Florence (Pierce) Davidson. Married Edward Dale Slater, September 03, 1988, Carlyle, IL. He passed away October 14, 2003. She was formerly employed at Peterson Spring Co. Greenville, IL and a retired Waitress. A member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Vandalia, IL. Betty loved horses, raising and showing Tennessee Walkers.
Betty is survived by: Son – Kenneth Smith, Vandalia, IL; Granddaughter – Vicky Dunn & Stephen, Belleville, IL; Great Grandchildren – Christopher Dunn & Emily Dunn , Belleville, IL.
