(Chicago, IL) — Governor Rauner is continuing a push for a state takeover of Chicago Public Schools. Rauner reaffirmed yesterday that the Illinois Board of Education has launched an investigation into the finances of the troubled district. The governor acknowledged that he doesn’t have the power to seize control of CPS. However, he claims the state can block the district from borrowing money depending on the findings of the probe.
