It looks as if we will go thru record high temperatures, strong thunderstorms, and multiple inches of snow in a matter of just a few days. It looks like a rather significant snow is on the way for the area during Wednesday of this week. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says that we could see snow on Tuesday night with a low of 35 with new snow accumulation of less than an inch on Tuesday night. Then, we’ll see snow mixed with rain with a high of 38 on Wednesday. The National Weather Service, at this time, says we could see new snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches during the day on Wednesday. Some weather forecasters are shooting high than that—with a prediction of 3 to 6 inches—but there is still some uncertainty in the storm.
Meanwhile, this round of winter weather comes after we set a new record high temperature on Saturday. According to Weather Underground (available at www.vandaliaradio.com) we set a new record with a high of 74 on Saturday. The record low for that day? Well, that was 4 degrees and that record was set just last year.
