New legislation aims to give school districts in Illinois some relief from unfunded mandates. Often times, rules are applied to schools with no way to pay for the new requirements. State Representative Ron Sandack says the bill alleviates some of those mandates.
The bill also eliminates restrictions on those outside contract, giving schools more options. Governor Bruce Rauner says this measure would save schools about 200 million dollars.
