(Chicago, IL) — A federal judge has tossed out one of the charges made by a whistleblower in former state treasurer Dan Rutherford’s office. Edmund Michalowski’s claim that Rutherford sexually harassed him, however, remains active. Judge Joan Lefkow ruled that Michalowski can’t prove his racketeering claim that Rutherford forced employees to contribute and do campaign work. Michalowski also claims Rutherford propositioned him and sexually harassed him for several years, a claim that scuttled Rutherford’s 2014 campaign for governor.
