(East Peoria, IL) — The owners of the Par-A-Dice Casino in East Peoria blame the expansion of video gaming for their plans to lay off 40 employees. The company says since video gaming in Illinois was expanded over the last three years, its revenues have dropped by 23 percent. Casino revenue across the state has been declining for several years, but video gaming revenue has risen, with one-hundred-96-million-dollars taken in last year, compared with one-hundred-14-million the previous year.
