(Washington, IL) — Illinois is among eight states that saw a significant drop last year in the number of residents lacking health insurance. A government reports finds that under the Affordable Care Act, the nation as a whole had about nine-percent of people without insurance, down from 14-point-four-percent before the law took full effect. Illinois joins Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Michigan and New York in recording declines in the number of uninsured.
