(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois State Museum may soon be open to the public again but with some changes. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources announced an agreement has been reached to reopen the facility with the addition of an admission fee. The museum could only continue operations if the state General Assembly approves an amendatory veto. The building has been closed since last fall because of the budget impasse.
