(Champaign, IL) — Nearly 18-hundred union employees at the University of Illinois may have to wait until late February to receive back pay. “The Champaign News-Gazette” reports members of AFSCME approved their new contract in December. The deal includes a two-and-a-half-percent raise beginning in August 2014. Each employee is owed an average of one-thousand dollars. University officials say the workers won’t receive the money until February 24th “at best.”
