Education advocates are renewing their push to revamp the way the state funds public schools in Illinois. It’s time to really get the conversation going about how to more equitably fund schools in Illinois says State Senator Andy Manar. He says currently, the money isn’t going to where it’s needed most.
Manar says just spending more money isn’t the answer. His legislation phases in a new funding formula over four years and includes reforms to how districts spend the money. He is calling for debate and a vote on the bill.
