Our first substantial snowfall of the season looks to be on the way tonight, although weather outlets are coming down a bit on their original forecast amounts. The National Weather Service in St. Louis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory that begins at 6 pm this evening and runs until 6 am Wednesday morning. We are looking at snow starting sometime tonight and continuing into the overnight hours—with a high today of 20 and a low tonight of 18. The National Weather Service now says our area is looking at 2 to 4 inches of snow tonight. As for other weather outlets, Accuweather also says we should expect to see 2 to 4 inches of snow for tonight. But, Weather Underground (available at www.vandaliaradio.com) comes in a little low with their prediction, saying we are looking at 1 to 3 inches of snow for tonight.
