The Fayette County Board at a special meeting Friday night, approved a budget for this fiscal year by a vote of 12-1 with one county board member not present. Prior to the special meeting, the bard conducted a budget hearing in which Board Chairman Jeff Beckman explained that the county has a carryover from the last fiscal year budget of $128,703 and stated the carryover was due to the hard work of the various departments. Beckman then went on to discuss this fiscal year’s projected expenses and revenues.
And Beckman pointed out that without the carryover from the previous year, the budget would be in the negative for this year.
After the conclusion of the budget hearing, the special board meeting was called to order and a vote was taken with the budget being approved by a 12-1 vote with board member Wade Wilhour casting the lone “no” vote
