(Bentonville, AR) — Wal-Mart is shutting down 269 stores around the world, 154 of which are here in the U.S. The outlets targeted for closing are mainly the Wal-Mart express stores. The closing affects about ten-thousand employees here in the US. The company said it would try to place laid-off workers at other stores. Wal-Mart says it’s closing the stores to focus more resources on Neighborhood Market stores and Supercenters. None of the closures are in this region.
