The 57th Annual Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant will take place at the IAAF Convention held on January 14-17 at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield.
Miss Fayette County Fair Queen Jenna Hunt will compete along with 69 other contestants from throughout the state.
Jenna is the 20 year old daughter of Scott & Jennifer Hunt of Ramsey. She is currently attending Lake Land College pursuing a degree in Nursing.
Instructions will be given for the weekend during the official roll call time Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
Friday will be the interview day. Each contestant will have a personal interview with the five judges. This is a big part of the competition, because the title of
Miss Illinois County Fair is a job. The new queen will be an employee of the State of Illinois for the year. She will be the hostess of both state fairs and travel throughout
the state to other county fairs, and she will speak to the House of Representatives and the Illinois Senate.
The preliminary competition is held on Saturday. Each contestant will compete in Stage Presence, Beauty and Physique and Speech & Communication Skills.
Hunt will be competing in the evening group which begins at 7:00 pm. The public is invited to attend.
Finals will be held on Sunday, January 17. The evening will begin with a Banquet and the Production Number, followed by introductions of all 70 contestants. The top 15 finalists
will be announced. This is reserved seating only. The top 15 finalists slate will be wiped clean and they will be interviewed again by the judges then compete in all phases of competition
again and answer 3 on-stage interview questions. Miss Illinois County Fair Queen 2016 will be crowned following this competition. A reception will immediately follow coronation.
