A Chicago area lawmaker is proposing legislation giving voters the option to recall all elected officials in Illinois. Currently, Illinois law lets voters petitions to recall a sitting Governor. But, State Senator Napoleon Harris thinks that should be extended to all levels of government.
This would require a change to the state constitution so voters would have to approve the expanded recall provision before it can take effect. A similar bill allowing recall of just the Mayor of Chicago has also been proposed.
