Illinois weather in 2015 was definitely one for the record books. Last year was the 6th wettest on record in Illinois, with 48.5 inches of precipitation. That is more than 8.5 inches above normal. State Climatologist Jim Angel says as far as temperatures go, it was a year of extremes.
Angel says we’re likely to see typical winter temperatures in January, but says the El Nino effect could help bring mild temperatures back for February and March.
