(Kankakee, IL) — The Kankakee Police Department admits it needs a hand in solving the disappearance of a plaster cast of Abraham Lincoln’s hands. The hands were snatched sometime around December 11th from the Kankakee County Museum, but rather than throw up their hands, museum officials and police are hoping the public reaches out with some information that helps them get their hands on the thief. The cast of Lincoln’s hands is more than 150-years-old and was handmade by Kankakee native George Grey-Bernard. It’s one of the small museum’s most prized artifacts, hands down.
