* At 10:30 AM Sunday the stage was 22.8 feet. * Flood stage is 18.0 feet. * Major flooding is forecast. * The river is forecast to have a broad crest near 28.2 feet from Monday morning through Tuesday and fall below flood stage Friday. * Impact: At 27.9 feet…U.S. Highway 51 south of Vandalia begins to flood near this height. * Impact: At 27.5 feet…Near this level, the left bank levee just south of the U.S. Highway 51 bridge is overtopped. * Impact: At 26.0 feet…The Dively and Vandalia Levees begin to be overtopped. * Impact: At 25.8 feet…Along South 4th Street, numerous homes begin flooding near the St. Clair Street intersection. * Impact: At 25.5 feet…South 4th Street begins flooding near and south of Jefferson Street in Vandalia
