Top seeded Cumberland and #5 seed South Central both moved into the semifinals with wins on night one of the 56th Annual St. Elmo Holiday Tournament. In Game One, Cumberland was an 84-31 winner over Vandalia Fresh-Soph. Blake Barth, Blake Morrison and Bryce Dunn each had 6 points for the Vandals.
In Game Two, fourth-seeded South Central was a 59-52 winner over #4 seed Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick. Dre Hill lead South Central with 21 points and Jon Arnold had 14 points. For BCCH, Austin Rexroad had 16 points, Konner Blackerby scored 13 points and Micah Sandiford added 12 points.
Cumberland and South Central will play in the tournament’s first semifinal game on Thursday night at 7:45pm. BCCH and Vandalia Fresh-Soph will play Thursday night at 6:15pm in the consolation bracket.
Tonight at the SEHT, host St. Elmo-Brownstown will take on Ramsey at 6:15pm with Mulberry Grove and Okaw Valley facing off at 7:45pm.
