Test scores for individual schools are out for the new “PARCC” exam, but education officials advise not comparing them to other exams. The PARCC test was given to 3rd thru 12th graders, replacing the Prairie State Achievement Exam and the I-SATs. Just 33 percent of students across the state met or exceeded learning standards for their grade. But, State Superintendent Tony Smith reminds the PARCC is much more rigorous test than kids are used, which will pay off in the long run.
