(Palatine, IL) — The Palatine School District is threatening to renege on an agreement reached regarding the use of a girls’ locker room by a transgender student. The school board voted this past week to allow the student, who was born male, to use the locker room, prompting major debate. But according to the “Joliet Herald-News.” district officials are angry that the federal Office for Civil Rights stated the agreement is a district-wide policy, rather than only applying to the original transgender student. In a statement, District 211 said that was an act of bad faith, and that the district won’t let it stand.
