The Brownstown-St. Elmo 8th grade girl’s basketball team finished off their regular season undefeated with a 41-11 win over Sandoval Thursday night. The Lady Bombers got out to a quick lead and did not allow a Sandoval basket until the 2nd quarter and went into the locker room up 36-3 at the half before holding on for the 30-point win. After the game, Coach Josh Behrends talked about the hard work the 8th grade girls have put in to get better and accomplish their goals this season.
Claire Wilhour led BSE with 21 points, Olivia Campbell added 7 points, Audrey Wilhour and Makenzie Walk each scored 3 points. Natalie Oberlink finished with 3 points and Avyree Scholes scored 2 points. The Lady Bombers are 21-0 and will begin play in the Altamont 8-2A Regional the week after Thanksgiving. Brackets have not yet been posted on the IESA website, but it is expected the Lady Bombers will have the #1 seed and would play on Tuesday, December 1 against the winner of the quarterfinal game between the 4th and 5th seeds.
